The role will work for operations in the execution of work activity safely in accordance with plans, control of work system and with the requirement of the task and to ensure accurate reporting of activity.

Yard Phase

  • Reporting to on shift Production Superintendent & Production Lead Tech.
  • Actively participating in embedding GOE’s core values and culture, identifying, and reporting any areas that are deficient so that improvements can be made.
  • Active participation in formal walk downs, punch listing, and pre-check of systems for handover.
  • Actively driving the informal observation system to ensure as many deficiencies are identified as possible.
  • Process safety review of equipment and systems pre-start-up of Osman Gazi FPU.
  • Ensure that preservation activities are completed to a high standard to make sure that equipment is ready to operate when on location with minimal delay.
  • Ensure effective systems are maintained for the identification, assessment, and control of significant environmental risks at site.
  • Ensure that all fluids that will be transported to site will be identified on the MSDS, Chemical data sheets.
  • Monitor operations activities to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of all aspects of the O&M scopes.
  • Ensure that personnel under their supervision are fully competent and aware of their responsibilities.
  • Co-ordinate FPU resources as required to achieve team objectives as directed by the ProdS / PLT.
  • Report immediately any identified unsafe acts or conditions using the company’s procedures, e.g. STOP, Near Miss Report, etc.
  • Observe and deliver GOE company safety rules and regulations, including permit to work system and comply with same.
  • Put forward suggestions and develop modification requests as necessary to improve plant / equipment efficiency / safety operations.
  • Actively participate in the preparations for transition to the GOE permit to work system on sail away.
  • Ongoing review of the system operability to identify and highlight any deficiencies in the plant that could make the operation less dependable.
  • Working with GOE to ensure that the support provided is suitable and sufficient to the FPU needs.
  • Conduct ongoing performance monitoring of the operations personnel to ensure that we have the correct skills, knowledge, and attitude to be part of the GOE team.
  • Actively encourage team members to focus on a ONE TEAM approach for the O&M crew and the third-party contractors’ staff that will be part of the core team make up.
  • In all cases looking out for GOE best interests.
  • Provide effective support to workforce, vendors, third parties, etc in process safety and safety behaviours.
  • Display a good understanding of industry and HSE practices applicable to operations technician role.
  • Maintain HSE compliance at all stages of the work scope.
  • Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Maintain effective communication, working relations, identify and minimise interpersonal conflict with all work colleagues offshore.

Operational Phase

  • Monitor, make sure all machinery is operated in a safe manner and that all operations are conducted according to correct and safe procedures as directed.
  • Operate utility systems and production systems efficiently and highlight any deficiencies which could compromise their operation.
  • Maintains good housekeeping conditions.
  • Check out work covered by commissioning / acceptance documentation to ensure systems are as outlined /operational and signs documentation to this effect.
  • Required to assist and work with other disciplines when required, where multi-skilling within a team culture is a major area of development on the platform.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and ensure work is executed in line with GOE Permit to Work system.
  • Ability to interpret / mark-up of technical drawings.
  • Function as part of the Emergency Response Team as required.
  • Operate against the requirements of the permit to work system to ensure safe operations both for production and other departments onboard.
  • Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursue continuous professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical training to at least HNC / HND level or equivalent qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • Demonstrates extensive practical knowledge of process systems, plant and equipment relevant to the industry sector within their discipline, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a Process Operator role.
  • Experienced technician within an offshore production operation environment.
